●介绍
■Modbus是Modicon股份有限公司(AEG Schneider Automation International SAS)为PLC开发的通信协议。它用于数据传输,不仅用于PLC,还用于电子设备之间的数据传输。它被广泛应用于工厂自动化和工厂自动化领域,因为规范对公众开放,免费使用,并且相对容易实施。这使得它成为连接工业设备最常见的串行通信协议。
■例如,在工厂中,Modbus用于通过各种有线或无线通信网关连接设备。Modbus使用的主设备可以是网关、HMI、SCADA(监控和数据采集)、PLC或类似设备。从设备可以包括I/O控制设备、温湿度测量机、仪表、变频器、电机单元等。
■有两种Modbus传输模式,均基于串行通信:Modbus ASCII(美国信息交换标准代码)和Modbus RTU(远程终端单元)。
■Modbus ASCII通过将数据的每个字节转换为两个字符的ASCII代码,以ASCII字符串的形式传输数据。附加终止字符来界定数据,与Modbus RTU相比,这增加了数据量并增加了传输时间。另一方面,传输的数据更容易解析。相反,Modbus RTU以二进制格式传输数据,无需转换。为了在Modbus RTU中界定数据,需要至少3.5个字符的非通信间隔。与Modbus ASCII相比,数据量和传输时间减少了,但解析传输的数据需要使用计时器。
■Modbus通信使用单主/多从方法,其中从设备响应来自主设备的请求。Modbus网络中有1个主设备和1到247个从设备。每个从设备在网络中必须有一个唯一的地址(1到247)。由于不可能在同一网络上使用不同的数据格式进行通信,因此Modbus ASCII或Modbus RTU必须仅在单个网络上使用。
