Benewake‘s LiDAR Used in Intelligent Roadside Parking, Supporting Black Car Ultra-distance Detection
A Roadside parking management system is the one that manages parking and operations based on IoT, cloud computing services, and intelligent sensor technologies. The management system utilizes LiDAR and camera to snapshot parking spaces, identify license plate numbers, and start timing for individual cars when they navigate into the area of management. As soon as cars depart the area, the system collects departure information while snapshots license plates, hence automatically stops billing. Furthermore, parking fees can be charged through an app, so as to minimize manpower and operating cost.
The system monitors occupancy status for all parking spaces, and enables remote data query, e-mapped parking space monitoring, parameter configuration, and rate adjustment. Through data interfaces, it provides fundamental data to large-scale driving/parking promotion system, optimizes operation inside parking lot, thus reduces operating cost.
LiDAR Used in Intelligent Roadside Parking Applications
Installed inside an intelligent parking system such as a curb/dock machine, LiDAR can tell if a parking space is parked by a car. It achieves so by measuring how far a car has entered the parking space, meanwhile, triggering the camera to snapshot the license plate. Hence, the system will start timing.
