WIMA包膜封装技术贴片式(SMD)薄膜电容器,优异热应力、机械应力强度助力高可靠性焊接
目前各产品厂家对开发新产品存在的“潜在失效分析”越来越重视,因此表面贴装(SMD)无源元器件电容器在PCB印刷电路板的可靠性焊接应用越来越重要, 贴片电容受制于安装在更大体积表面的机械应力和热应力干涉影响,导致贴片陶瓷电容断裂潜在失效风险增大。从而出现潜在品质异常隐患。
电子产品中设计越来越小型化,退耦电容基本上采用表贴元器件,应用电路选用非常多贴片陶瓷电容应用在半成品PCBA组件中,很多产品在原型设计到量产阶段没有发现什么问题,批量投放到市场后,如果电容内部有裂缝或者接触不良,产品会出现漏电流和待机功耗比较大等不良异常,以下因素会导致陶瓷电容出现断裂现象:
☆ PCBA 上陶瓷电容位置过于靠近安装螺丝孔,安装扭动螺丝孔产生应力,制造组装产品时所产生的机械应力。
☆ 制造工厂自动贴片加工、装配工装治具、产品功能测试夹具顶针在放置使用中所产生机械压力和回流炉热焊接时产生热应力。

WIMA“包膜技术”应用特点:
在SMT自动贴片组装过程中,贴片机通过真空吸嘴,利用X/Y/Z坐标定位原理将贴片电容准确无误放置于PCB基板焊盘上。将贴片好组件再经过回流炉进行可靠性焊接,回流炉焊接温度通常设置在230-260C°范围, 基板 组件过回流炉焊接过程中,会产生一定机械应力和热应力对基板贴片陶瓷电容组件有断裂影响,会产生膨胀影响端子可焊性。WIMA贴片薄膜电容能承受来自机械振动,张力,扭曲所产生应变力来进行高质量焊接。上锡端子采用抗氧化包膜技术提高可靠性焊接,不会出现虚焊和脱焊现象,不存在热焊接和机械强度应力带来断裂异常。从而提高产品使用寿命。

由于表面贴装可焊性工艺不断提高。根据工厂生产现场应用经验,贴片电容小尺寸封装0805/0603/0402 断裂风险小。但是如果使用更大尺寸陶瓷贴片电容,对应力要求就会至关重要。随着更大的尺寸体积以及安装表面增大,PCB表面应力明显增大,会出现断裂可能,实际产品应用中,为了提供更高的容量和额定电压,威马也会引入了更大尺寸封装贴片电容。威马贴片薄膜电容器封装型号有1812 /2220 / 2824/(4036) 尺寸。具有优良的机械性能以及良好的可焊性能够覆盖PCB焊盘,满足薄膜电容两端焊锡饱满要求。
模拟弯曲应力对比测试:
在实际应用中,研发工程师需要提前预知一个电容潜在失效唯一办法,就是在PCB基板在做模拟弯曲试验。在模拟测试中,SMD组件需要焊接到100毫米x30毫米PCB焊盘盘上,被测电路板在专用模拟试验工具里设置弯曲1mm至5mm 参数进行模拟应力测试。

陶瓷电容器(MLCC)弯曲测试
当进行模拟弯曲在1毫米处时,陶瓷电容已经发生形变,出现断裂不良异常。如下图所示,出现裂缝都是集中力量发生在陶瓷电容锡点端。

威马塑封薄膜电容器弯曲测试。
以下图片采用威马 SMD 塑封电容封装型号为2220 , 容量1.0µF / 63 V薄膜电容做测试,分别在0毫米/ 3毫米/ 5毫米三级模拟弯曲进行测试。即使弯曲长达5毫米,未检测到裂纹,没有出现脱焊、虚焊现象。金属包膜只是出现轻微变形。

两端采用电镀金属板,独创包膜工艺和表面电镀抗氧焊盘结构,该金属板机械可焊性性能优良,即使弯曲超5.0mm,可焊性金属表面只是稍微变形,非常好的金属板表面焊接质量和机械阻力,不影响电气性能应用。包膜金属电镀层厚度在15µm, 70µm之间,过回流炉温度设置在260C°温度条件下进行可焊性焊接,经检测上锡点符合元器件焊接标准,锡点完美表面平滑无毛刺闪闪发光。符合机械应变力和热应力要求。
