【经验】如何提高散热性能同时降低成本?通过热仿真软件FlothermXT优化散热器齿片间距
一客户需要使用热管穿Fin散热器进行散热,目前遇到散热问题,产品的温度超过要求4℃左右,希望在不改变风扇与整体结构的基础上能将温度降低达标。为此为客户进行理论与热仿真分析,通过调整散热器齿片间距的方式,提高散热器散热性能,达到温度要求,同时新方案的散热器成本相对更低,成功解决客户散热难题。
客户目前散热器的结构如左下图所示,热管将底部热量传导至铝散热片;散热铝片如下方中间图所示,齿片厚度0.4mm,齿片间距0.8mm;使用我司代理的品牌山洋(SANYO DENKI)80*80*38mm轴流风扇9GA0812P1G61将散热片的热量散发至空气完成散热过程,其PQ曲线如右下图所示。
首先为客户进行理论分析。在不改变整体结构的基础上,可以通过优化齿片之间的间距提升散热性能,根据对流散热公式:
Q=h·A·△T
(Q:换热量;h:对流换热系数;A:齿片面积;△T:齿片与环境温差)
可以得出,在同样的散热量Q下,为了得到尽可能小的△T,需要h、A尽可能大,其中h与风速相关,风速越高h越大;A为散热片与风接触面积,可以通过增加散热片数量增加A(即同样尺寸空间内,散热片间距降低,A增大)。然而,如风扇的风量风压PQ曲线所示,风量会随风压升高而降低,也就意味着降低齿间距(增加散热片的数量),一方面会增加散热面积,即A升高,另一方面会增加风压导致风量降低,即h降低,那么,就可以通过调整散热片间距,使得该风扇h与A两者实现最佳匹配,最终达到优化散热性能的目的。
然后根据客户目前的结构使用FlothermXT热仿真软件进行散热仿真分析,左下图为温度分布云图,散热片的平均温度55.45℃,软件计算得到风扇的风压为289.66Pa,风量为1.21m³/min,风扇工作点如右下图所示,可以看到,一方面该工作点位于高压工作区,风压对风量影响大,降低风压可大幅增加风量,另一方面,该工作点位于失速区附近,风扇容易进入到不稳定工况区运行,造成噪声增加与寿命降低。上述分析表明,该散热片的间距相对于该风扇需要调整以提高散热能力与风扇寿命。
而后,将散热片的间距由之前的0.8mm增加到1.2mm,如左下图所示,在相同情况下进行仿真分析,温度分布云图如下图所示,散热片的平均温度49.31℃,相较于之前结果(55.45℃)降低6.14℃,满足客户的温度要求;同时,增加齿间距后,翅片数量减少,散热器成本降低。进一步的,分析该结构的风扇工作点,软件计算风扇的风压251.44Pa,风量1.756m³/min,与之前0.8mm齿片间距结果(风压289.66Pa,风量1.21m³/min)相比,风压仅降低38.22Pa(13.2%),而风量增加0.546m³/min(45.1%),散热面积略微下降而风量大幅提升,达到更优异的散热效果。同时,风扇的工作点离开失速区,提前规避了风扇不稳定工作的风险。
为了更进一步验证散热器齿间距与散热能力的关系,将齿片间距设定到0.6mm、0.8mm、1mm、1.2mm、1.4mm、1.6mm进行对比测试,以散热片的平均温度作为散热性能评价标准,平均温度越低,散热性能越好。仿真所得到的散热片平均温度随齿片间距变化曲线如图所示,从图可以直观地看到,散热片平均温度随着齿片间距的增加,呈现先降低后升高的趋势,在齿片间距1.2mm左右达到最佳散热性能,可以粗略得到以下结论:在该风扇与该结构条件下,增加齿间距会降低风压增加风量,同时减少散热面积,在齿间距<1.2mm时,风量起主导作用,增加齿间距可有效加强散热效果;齿间距>1.2mm时,散热面积起主导作用,增加齿间距会降低散热效果。

本文具体介绍风扇的风量和静压。风扇风量是指风扇排出的空气量,静压是指在真空状态下,风扇施加于周围的压力。静压越高,风扇可以将空气推送得越远。基本上,风扇的风量与转速成正比,静压与转速的平方成正比。也就是说,如果将转速加倍,风量将增加至原来的2倍,静压将增加至原来的4倍。
