m2m modem is the abbreviation of Data Transfer Unit, which is a device used for data transfer. M2m modems are usually used to connect sensors, instruments, and other field terminal equipment, and transmit data to the cloud platform or remote server to achieve data acquisition, monitoring, and control functions.

The main function of the M2m modem is to transmit the data of the remote device back to the background center in a wired/wireless manner. To complete the transmission of data, we need to establish a complete set of data transmission systems. The system includes M2m modems, client devices, mobile networks, and back-office centers. At the front end, the M2m modems are connected to the customer's equipment through a 232 or 485 interface. Therefore, only M2m modems cannot complete the wireless transmission of data, and they need to be used together with background software. After the connection is established, the front-end device and the back-end center can perform wireless data transmission through the M2m modems, and the transmission is bidirectional. The new generation of M2m modems has different degrees of development in pure data acquisition, multimedia display, data processing, and so on.

M2m modems have been widely used in power, environmental protection, LED information release, logistics, hydrology, meteorology, and other industries. Although the industry of application is different, the principle of application is the same. Most of the M2m modems are connected with industry equipment, such as PLC, SCM, and other automation products, and then establish a wireless communication connection with the background. Today, with the increasing development of the Internet, M2m modems are used more and more widely. It provides help for the information and industrial integration of various industries and industries. It has also gradually developed into the core technology of Internet of Things applications.

The main uses of M2m modems include the following:

Data collection: The M2m modem can connect various sensors and instruments to collect field data, such as temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, etc.
