METZ CONNECT has expanded the modular system of PCB connectors in the M12 range to include A-coded variants in accordance with DIN EN 61076-2-101. The connectors conform to the standards and are therefore predestined for all transmissions on the sensor and actuator level.

Similar to the X- and D-coded circuit board sockets, the products are available in different forms depending on the installation situation and application. They are available as front wall and rear wall mounting, completely assembled, or as a kit. For use in an industrial environment, there are variants that meet the requirements of IP67 when not plugged in, so your device is leak-proof even if no plug or protective cap is connected.

For high-volume device production and circuit board assembly according to the latest manufacturing knowledge, the circuit board inserts are also available as a variant on tape on the reel with a Kapton film as an assembly aid. Standard 15 inch reels with 160 pieces per reel are used.

A big advantage of this product family is that all PCB sockets and inserts (A-, D- and X-coded) have the same height and can be used mixed on one PCB. In addition, the printed circuit board sockets have a latching mechanism that holds them securely and reliably in the housing or flange, so that additional fixing of the printed circuit board in the surrounding housing is no longer necessary. In this expansion stage of the portfolio, 2, 3, 4, and 5-pole, A-coded products are added.

At the same time, the range of connection and connection cables is being expanded to include A-coded products – in this tranche 4.5 and 8-pole versions. They are available as plugs and sockets as well as straight and angled. PUR and PVC are available as cable qualities to meet the many requirement profiles on the market.

The advantages and innovations summarized:

· Leak tightness according to IP67 when not plugged in for use in an industrial environment – even without a protective cap/plug

· Circuit board inserts as a variant on tape on the reel with a Kapton film as an assembly aid

· PCB sockets/inserts have the same overall height and can be used mixed on one PCB

· The latching mechanism of the PCB sockets enables a firm hold in the housing/flange – additional fixing is not necessary

The connection terminals from METZ CONNECT suitable for Industrial Ethernet offer an interesting alternative to RJ45 or M12 connectors. The reasons for this are the cost advantages of a fixed connection and the possibility that the terminals can be color-coded for different Ethernet applications. The common Industrial Ethernet data transfer rates can be covered with the METZ CONNECT 4-pin connection terminals for 10/100 Mbit/s or 8-pin for up to 10 Gbit/s.
