超小!一颗让你实现小基站无线应用的时钟发生器
迈入后4G时代,全球的电信商和基站设备业者正加紧脚步朝向5G技术的发展,而小基站由于具有小型化、可绵密布建的优点,能够为电信骨干网络分流庞大的数据量,因此也成为各界关注的通信产品开发热点。但是,小基站对于系统体积、射频收发性能、功耗的要求都非常严格,带来诸多设计挑战。
面向行业的新趋势及设计要求,芯科科技(SiliconLabs)也提出可以完全符合小基站开发所需的Si5380无线时钟发生器解决方案,通过搭载最新的第四代DSPLL技术,来满足小基站和远程无线电头端(RRH)应用对形状因数、功耗和性能的严格要求。
SILICON LABS Si5380 是业内首款无线时钟发生器,能够利用完全集成的CMOS IC解决方案替换离散的高性能VCXO时钟。最终的解决方案为小型基站设计进行了集成、尺寸和功耗的优化,同时拥有无可比拟的性能和易用性。这个时钟元器件不仅具备超低相位噪声的优点,并符合JESD204B标准的抖动衰减校能规范,为拥有超小封装和功耗,需要最高级的别集成度和相位噪声性能的小基站无线应用进行了优化。
Si5380主要特点:
• 借助于数字频率合成,无需配置外部VCXO和模拟环路滤波器元件
• 支持JESD204B时钟:DCLK和SYSREF
• 输入频率范围:差分:10MHz-750MHz,LVCMOS:10MHz-250MHz

基于上述特点,Silicon Labs的Si5380时钟发生器妥善地解决了爆炸式增长的数据流量这一日益严峻的挑战。目前小基站市场的需求正因无线服务供应商的扩大建置而快速增长,但设计该类基站的挑战也是明显的,因为它们必须足够小。“小”意味着减少印制电路板占用面积,费料少,以及成本低。同样,因为小基站必须放置于屋顶或者悬挂于建筑物外侧,或者放在密闭空间内,因此,无论温度冷热,工作与否,他们的性能都不能因为温度变化而改变。
对于小基站设计,传统的级联PLL解决方案印制电路板占用面积大,功耗高,且易于受到来自电源或者震动的噪声源的影响。相较之下,新型Si5380可减少66%的印制电路板占用面积,降低30%的功耗,并且对电源噪声和震动影响不是那么敏感,彻底颠覆了无线时钟设计的性能标准。
值得注意的是,Si5380搭载了Silicon Labs的第四代DSPLL 技术可实现时钟生成,这种技术将频率合成与抖动衰减完美地融入至一个高度集成的数字解决方案中,无需配置外部VCXO和环路滤波器元件,有效地帮助了工程师缩小印刷电路板尺寸。

时钟发生器Si5351使用固定频率音叉型无源晶体作为内部振荡器的参考时钟源,无源晶体的频率为25MHz或27MHz,也可以使用VCXO作为时钟源来保证频率精度。Si5351具有内部的负载电容,共有6、8、10PF可配置。所以Si5351既可以使用内部负载电容,省去外部电容,也可以使用外部负载电容。
