What Is The MOS and What‘s Function of It
The role of the MOS tube is in the battery protection board-voltage protection overcharge and over-discharge. During the charging and discharging process of the MOS tube, due to the possibility of reverse voltage or current, the MOS tube may be damaged or failed. In order to avoid this from happening, a charging and discharging protection circuit needs to be used.
Charge and discharge protection circuits can be divided into two types: unidirectional protection circuits and bidirectional protection circuits. The one-way protection circuit is mainly aimed at the reverse voltage or current generated by the MOS tube during the charging process and prevents damage to the MOS tube caused by these reverse voltages or currents by adding components such as diodes. The bidirectional protection circuit can protect both the charging and discharging process of the MOS tube and is usually realized by a combination of a MOS tube and a diode.
No matter what protection method is used, care must be taken to maintain the proper resistance of the protection circuit to avoid excessive current flowing through the protection circuit, resulting in overheating and damage to the protection circuit itself. Current flows through the protection circuit, causing overheating and damage to the protection circuit itself.
