The development of 5G technology has become increasingly mature. It has the characteristics of easy deployment, low latency, high reliability, large bandwidth, and fast connection. As a result, a 5G cellular router based on 5G technology came into being, which uses a high-performance industrial 32-bit communication processor and industrial wireless module, and an embedded operating system as a software support platform. It also supports one Gigabit Ethernet WAN, four Gigabit Ethernet LANs, one RS232/RS485 (optional) interface, and a 2.4G/5.8G WIFI interface. It can connect serial devices, Ethernet devices, and WIFI devices at the same time, which can meet the needs of industrial field communication.

The so-called 5G local area network is to use the availability of 5G terminals to form a local area network in the way of "grouping" and "clustering", so as to separate the connection between terminals from the terminals.

5G LAN plays an important role in the application of the industrial field. It can realize the networking within the factory, thus making the connection between 5G and the industrial network closer. In addition, 5G LAN also has the characteristics of two-level forwarding, space expansion, mobility, and security, which can realize simple network configuration and flexible configuration, breaking the barrier of industrial IT and OT integration development in one stroke. As a result, 5G LAN has become the accelerated development of today's industrial network. With the support of 5G LAN, enterprises can not only save the cost of network construction but also reduce the maintenance of 5G and industrial networks, thus greatly improving the efficiency of industrial production.

The 5G cellular router does not need to add AR routing and only uses 5G LAN to replace multiple physical layers, which can simplify the network architecture, and effectively improve network efficiency and production line availability, thereby reducing networking costs and maintenance costs. In addition, with the help of 5G LAN technology, the industrial router has penetrated into various fields of industrial Internet, realizing the functions of plug and play, cross-threshold networking, dual transmission, and reception, effectively solving the problems of cumbersome network wiring, difficult network deployment and poor flexibility of network adaptation in traditional industrial enterprises.

In terms of data transmission, based on 5G LAN technology, it supports large-scale industrial data transmission with low delay and high reliability. The end-to-end delay can be reduced to 5ms, which can meet the high-precision monitoring of industrial production, smart grid, and other industries. It has an L3 layer IP service and L2 layer LAN service and realizes the interworking of layer 2 and layer 3.

At present, 5G cellular router based on 5G LAN technology has been widely used in industrial production, port logistics, energy mining areas, industrial PLC, and other fields.
