Deviser Instruments Introduces the DS2831 Digital TV Spectrum Analyzer Family Enabling a Smooth Transition to OFDM and DOCSIS 3.1 HFC Networks

San Jose, CA – October 19th, 2017 - Deviser Instruments, Inc., a manufacturer of high-quality, feature-rich, network field-test solutions for communications service providers (CSPs) and equipment manufacturers, announced the launch of the DS2831 Digital TV Spectrum Analyzer Family for facilitating a smooth transition to OFDM/DOCSIS 3.1 networks.
Given the growing demand for high bandwidth services along with increased competition among service providers, MSOs are under additional pressure to deploy DOCSIS 3.1 to offer their customers gigabit service. Moreover, they must roll out new technologies, such as DOCSIS 3.1, without impacting the customer experience. This requires MSOs to turn up the service to the same specifications, and quickly and accurately find impairments such as interference and distortion all while field technicians sharpen their skills on the new technology.
The DS2831, with its broad suite of customizable tools, is the ultimate test instrument for validating next generation HFC networks. Engineered to meet the requirements of installers, contractors, maintenance technicians, and headend engineers, Deviser Instruments offers a DS2831 model suited for every need. Typically, headend spectrum analyzers were not equipped with cable modems; however, with advances in miniaturization, Deviser Instruments is able to combine the merits of a true spectrum analyzer (including 80 dB dynamic range and -60 dBmV sensitivity @300KHz RBW) with a fully integrated DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem and OFDM signal demodulator. Tying it all together, the Deviser EDGE platform manages assets, firmware upgrades, channel plans, and measurement results.
