MindMotion Showcased New Microcontroller Products for Various Applications Including Automotive Electronics and Motor Control at ELEXCON 2023 in Shenzhen
On August 25th, the three-day ELEXCON 2023 Shenzhen International Electronics Exhibition concluded successfully at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian. During this event, MindMotion showcased its new products, including MM32G0001 and MM32SPIN0230, demonstrating a comprehensive range of innovative achievements in various fields such as automotive electronics, healthcare, smart industry, smart home appliances, and IoT. These products received enthusiastic attention from visitors at the venue.
MM32G0001: Quality at the Core of 1.5 Million Tests
At the beginning of 2023, MindMotion introduced the MM32G series, providing users with more choices in terms of efficiency, platform versatility, compatibility, and reliability. At this exhibition, MindMotion prominently featured the new entry-level MM32G0001 series, which excels in functionality, performance, cost-effectiveness, and high quality.
The MM32G0001 series features a 48MHz M0 core, maintaining MindMotion's high-quality characteristics while introducing new technologies to significantly optimize manufacturing costs. It is suitable for various applications, including node control, wireless charging, motor control, toys, lighting circuits, and more. It caters to a wide range of 8/16-bit MCU upgrade needs.
Additionally, the Flash memory of MM32G0001 supports up to 100,000 erase cycles and operates within a temperature range of up to 125°C Tj. It also maintains a +/- 5.5kV ESD HBM rating and a latch-up value of up to +/- 300mA @25°C, showcasing excellent interference resistance. The internal high-speed clock HSI of MM32G0001 provides a +/- 2.5% accuracy across the entire temperature range, meeting the requirements for most serial communication applications.
To ensure stable chip operation in various power and noise environments, MindMotion's research and development team has specially chosen a high-interference-resistant and highly reliable power supply structure. In internal tests, MM32G0001 successfully passed 1.5 million power-on and power-off tests at different temperatures, voltages, and voltage slopes without any abnormal resets or crashes, proving its performance.
MM32SPIN0230: Empowering the Motor Market
Motors are nearly ubiquitous in modern life, providing power sources for a multitude of scenarios. In this exhibition, MindMotion introduced its MM32SPIN series MCU, designed specifically for motor applications. Among them, the MM32SPIN0230, launched in the first half of this year, is a highly cost-effective MCU dedicated to motor control.
MM32SPIN0230 is designed for single motor control, targeting applications such as high-speed blowers, refrigerator compressors, power tools, fans, silent ceiling fans, miniature water pumps, and toy motor controllers. This product integrates advanced motor control features unique to MindMotion, including advanced 4-channel complementary PWM, high-precision ADC with injection function, rail-to-rail operational amplifiers, polling comparators, 32-bit capture clocks for Hall sensors, and a hardware divider and DMA for motor algorithm acceleration.
MM32SPIN0230 comes with a platform-based motor algorithm library and convenient motor tuning software. It also provides reference software and hardware designs for numerous popular motor applications. In terms of price, this product has a significant competitive advantage, with a minimum price of less than $0.2.
MM32A Series: Expansion of Automotive-grade Chip Roadmap
In recent years, the wave of the "New Four Modernizations" in the automotive industry has swept the world. The demand for MCUs in intelligent vehicles is several times that of traditional combustion engine vehicles, creating a broader development space in the MCU field. MindMotion's automotive-grade chip roadmap is also gradually unfolding and further expanding.
The MM32A series, a car-grade product introduced by MindMotion, was also on display at this event. Among them, the MM32A0144, as MindMotion's first car-grade MCU, combines high reliability, high performance, and communication interfaces tailored for automotive applications. It, along with the previously widely recognized MM32F0144 series, find applications in various scenarios, including body sensor control, vehicle battery management, reverse radar, automotive air conditioning and ventilation equipment, charging management, instrumentation and navigation co-processors, pedestrian warning and acoustic vehicle warning systems, ambient lighting, car window and door control, motor control, vehicle diagnostics, and more.
This chip has successfully obtained AEC-Q100 quality certification and has received authoritative recognition and affirmation for its performance and reliability within the international safety system.
Solid Foundation and Long-term Layout
During ELEXCON 2023, Mr. Wang Wei, Deputy General Manager of the General MCU Product Marketing Department at MindMotion, was invited to participate in a live interview with Elecfans.
During the interview, Mr. Wang pointed out that one of MindMotion's core advantages is its commitment to quality. In addition to their high standards and demanding research and development system, MindMotion addressed the need for high reliability in automotive-grade chips by initiating the construction of an Automotive Chip Testing and Verification Laboratory in September 2022. This laboratory became fully operational in March of this year and complies with international automotive electronic component reliability standards (AEC-Q100/AEC-Q104). It has established an efficient and comprehensive project control process.
Furthermore, MindMotion has always adhered to a long-term strategy. Mr. Wang mentioned in the interview that in the future, MindMotion will leverage the valuable technical experience accumulated over the years to focus on creating high-performance, low-power MCU products. They aim to continuously drive core innovations in China’s MCU market.
