At present, in the production of wire and cable, the commonly used fluoroplastics include polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE, polyfluoroethylene propylene (FEP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene copolymers, etc., of course, generally based on market prices In terms of distinction, PTFE is standing at the top of fluoroplastics, followed by PFA, and then FEP. At present, the most widely used market is FEP. Of course, some manufacturers choose PVDF/ETFE with a lower temperature grade for related wires. On the cable, our cable industry refers to these as Teflon materials or FEP materials. These materials are mainly used to manufacture various heat-resistant and high-temperature insulated wires, such as (oil) well cables, geological exploration cables, heating cables, and FEP materials. Class and Class H motor lead wires, radiation resistant wires, magnet wires, radio frequency coaxial cables, etc. Let's put it this way, all plastics that contain fluorine atoms in their molecular structure are collectively called fluoroplastics, and fluoroplastics consist of fluorine-containing monomers.
Monomers such as tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, chlorotrifluoroethylene, vinylidene fluoride, and vinyl fluoride are prepared through homopolymerization or copolymerization. With the continuous development of polymer technology, the variety of fluoroplastics is gradually increasing. The scope is expanding day by day. Due to the fluorine atom contained in the molecular structure of fluoroplastics, it has many excellent properties, such as excellent electrical insulation, high heat resistance, outstanding oil resistance, solvent resistance and abrasion resistance, and good moisture resistance. And low-temperature resistance. Therefore, fluoroplastics occupy an important position in the national defense, electromechanical, metallurgical, petrochemical, and other industrial sectors.
