Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (Expanded PTFE) is a new type of medical polymer material, made of PTFE resin by special processing methods such as stretching. It is white, full of elasticity and flexibility, and has a network structure formed by the connection of fine fibers. These fine fibers form countless pores, so that the expanded PTFE can be bent at will (over 360°), has good blood compatibility, and is resistant to biological aging. Used in the manufacture of medical products such as artificial blood vessels and heart patches. From a medical point of view, it is the most ideal substitute for biological tissue. Due to its good biocompatibility and unique microporous structure, it is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, non-sensitizing, and has other side effects, and human tissue cells and blood vessels can grow into its micropores to form tissue connections, just like autologous tissue.
