【元件】 业界首款5A/100W USB PD保护开关,简化USB Type-C DRP端口设计


作为电源管理和视频/音频接口IC行业的领导者,芯凯电子宣布发布业界首款高集成度的USB Type-C PD保护开关,该开关可大大简化应用在当今笔记本电脑和扩展坞的DRP分立设计方案。KTS1865集成双向、反向阻断的“理想二极管”、低电阻MOSFET开关以及多种传感和保护功能,可以有效减小电路板空间,最大限度地减少材料清单(BOM),并通过对异常操作提供强大的保护,进而提高系统可靠性。
芯凯电子资深市场总监Erik Ogren表示:“KTS1865作为保护负载开关的前沿产品,它可以让设计师简化DRP设计,是兼具高可靠性、低成本和具有强大保护功能的卓越解决方案。“在现有的设计中,客户通常必须在每个端口使用一个电流源。当USB端口处于Sink状态时,不需要Source器件,反之亦然。芯凯电子凭借自身在Sink开关、Source开关领域的知识产权,将这两种功能完美地结合到一个开关中。受益于此,客户可减少器件使用数量,节省整体解决方案的空间。”
KTS1865是一款经过优化的低阻抗、高电流双向负载开关,在20V电压下,可保护Sink/Source功率高达100W的USB Type-C电源传输(PD)端口,同时可承受29V VBUS。通过开启或关闭开关的两个逻辑引脚,将设备设置为SINK模式或SOURCE模式。具有电流限制的软启动设计,能够防止过大的浪涌冲击,同时能保持快速功能切换(FRS)。KTS1865的输入工作电压范围为3V至23V,集成IEC浪涌保护和ESD 4级保护功能的端口侧TVS。此外,还具有过压保护、有快速恢复功能的“理想二极管”反向电流保护、过流保护、可编程电流限制和过热保护等诸多保护功能。其中双向的“理想二极管”反向电流保护可自动定向,以匹配开关的逻辑控制Sink或Source模式,使“power OR”配置中的两个或多个充电端口可以连接到单独的充电器,而无需额外的低电压输入电源。
KTS1865的单路径sink/source开关架构能够轻松应对扩展坞、会议系统和笔记本电脑充电器端口的系统设计挑战。
KTS1865具有20-bump芯片级别(WLCSP)2.64 x 2.14mm小尺寸封装。
