How to Install Lithium Coin Cell Button Batteries?
Button batteries are small in size and are widely used in various microelectronic products. The diameter is between 4.8 mm and 38 mm, and the thickness is between 1.0 mm and 7.7 mm. They are generally used as backup power sources for various electronic products, such as computer motherboards, Electronic watches, electronic dictionaries, electronic scales, memory cards, remote controls, electric toys, pacemakers,electronic hearing aids, counters, cameras, etc.
Button batteries are also divided into chemical batteries and physical batteries, of which chemical batteries are the most commonly used. They are composed of anodizing (positive stage), negative electrode(negative stage) and electrolyte. On its appearance, the positive and negative electrodes are made of stainless steel. There is a sealing ring insulated between the positive and negative electrodes. The sealing ring is generally made of polymer material, and the common ingredients are PP. In addition to insulating, the sealing ring can also prevent electrolyte leakage. There are many types of button batteries, most of which are named after the materials used, such as silver oxide batteries, lithium batteries, alkaline manganese batteries, etc.
Regarding the installation of a button battery, let’s take the computer motherboard as an example. The CMOS battery on the notebook motherboard usually uses a 2032 button battery. The installation methods and foundations all follow the same standard, with the positive side of the English letters facing up. When installing, place the battery compartment with the positive side with the letters facing up, and press it firmly into the battery compartment. The flat part of the button battery is the negative connection spring, and the protruding part is the positive connection protrusion.
