[Overview and Design Intentions]
As the workforce population decreases in size and labor costs soar, the trend for digital transformation of manufacturing processes is further accelerating. Labor-saving methods are especially in demand for equipment inspection works in hazardous locations (where there is a danger of explosion and fire and therefore require much manpower) such as at oil and chemical plants as well as in painting process lines. With this in mind, HOSIDEN has developed a world first retrofit type of explosion-proof IoT meter-reading sensor. This is in technical cooperation with a long-established manufacturer of measuring instruments in Osaka, Kobata Gauge MFG. Co., Ltd. The sensor is intended for reading analog measuring instruments used within explosion-proof area.
