On February 26 local time, the 2024 Mobile World Congress Barcelona (2024 MWC Barcelona), the world's premier event in mobile communication kicked off in Barcelona, Spain. The event brought together global enterprises, experts, technologies, and services in the field of mobile communication, providing an important platform for technological development, business model innovation, and industrial integration within the industry.

At this headlines-making event, YOFC is bringing an extraordinary exhibition with the theme of “Connecting the Future with Fibre” to MWC Barcelona 2024! Moving Toward 5G Advanced
In recent years, the 5G technology evolution has catalyzed the digital wave across industries and sectors worldwide. A multitude of new applications and scenarios have emerged, increasing demands for networks and ushering 5G into a new era of 5G Advanced. As the "nerves" for information transmission, optical fibres serve as the foundation of the Internet of Everything in the 5G Advanced era. At MWC, YOFC was excited to showcase industry-leading products such as the FarBand® Ultra Low Loss and Large Effective Area G.654.E fibre, the EasyBand® Plus-Mini fibre with reduced outer diameter, the GenBand® fibre, the OM4/OM4 Ultra bending insensitive multimode fibre, and the specialty communication fibre, as well as optical cable solutions for all scenarios. In this way, YOFC presented our latest innovations that can address customers' specific networking challenges, including optical fibres and solutions optimized for short-distance transmission in data centers and ultra-long span transmission in the 5G Advanced era.
Furthermore, to drive forward the digital economy and AI, YOFC invests in the R&D of next-generation new optical fibres, making it among the upper echelon in the world. At MWC this year, YOFC's next-generation new optical fibres, represented by the space division multiplexing fibre and the hollow-core fibre, attracted the attention of industry insiders.
New Hub of Green Computing
As the hub of information and data, data centers garnered much attention at this MWC. YOFC comprehensively presented the iCONEC green data center cabling solution. While enabling the bandwidth upgrade of the data center, this solution also allows for the online upgrade of the spatial density of the cabling system, providing the optimal option for extending the lifespan of the data center, reducing carbon emissions, and optimizing costs.
In addition, YOFC also showcased an integrated solution for optical transceivers in AI data center computing networks. Building upon legacy III-V semiconductor technology, it launched the next-generation 400G/800G optical transceiver solution based on silicon photonics technology. This innovation is expected to reduce the energy consumption of optical transceivers by approximately 20%, effectively advancing the construction of green data centers.
New Value of Digital Energy
The empowerment of digitization revitalizes various industries, including the energy industry. YOFC focuses on the power transmission and marine sectors, adding new value to the development of digital energy with a variety of products and services.
In the power transmission sector, UHV is the world's leading technology. YOFC offers a comprehensive Digital Power Solution for UHVDC systems, encompassing G.654.E optical fibres, ADSS cables, OPGW cables, high voltage flame retardant optical cables, power connectors, and optical devices. Recently, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC, stock code: 601869.SH, 06869.HK), in collaboration with China Mobile and China Telecom, established the world‘s first 800G hollow-core fibre transmission test network in Shenzhen-Dongguan, Guangdong. Additionally, they kicked off the world‘s first demonstration project of a hollow-core fibre cable transmission system on an existing network, featuring a single-wavelength rate of 1.2 Tbit/s and a one-way transmission rate exceeding 100 Tbit/s.
