BYD and Horizon Robotics Announce Partnership on Journey™ 5 Processors for Vehicles SOP in 2023
Horizon Robotics (“Horizon”), a leader in computing solutions for intelligent vehicles, has announced its latest collaboration with BYD Co, Ltd (“BYD”), China’s best-selling electric vehicle brand, to equip BYD vehicles with Horizon’s latest generation automotive processor – Journey™ 5.
With a target SOP of mid-2023, BYD is the first automaker to publicly announce the series-production design-in using Horizon’s Journey™ 5, to expand the deployment to more vehicle models in the future. Horizon’s Journey™ 5 is a high-performance automotive processor optimized for advanced autonomous driving applications. It features high power efficiency and cost effectiveness, powered by Horizon’s proprietary accelerator BPU™. Other top automakers such as SAIC Motor, Great Wall Motors, Changan Automobile, and JAC Group also expressed series production intent with Journey™ 5 when it was first unveiled in July 2021.
