The walkie talkie module is widely used all over the world, and the frequency band of the walkie talkie module is mainly divided into UHF band and VHF band. UHF Frequency band
The UHF band refers to the working frequency of the walkie talkie module: 400~480MHz.
VHF Frequency band
The VHF band refers to the working frequency of the walkie talkie module: 134~174MHz.
So how do we choose the walkie talkie module that suits you?
According to electromagnetic theory, the lower the frequency and the longer the wavelength, the weaker the ability of radio waves to penetrate buildings, and the stronger the diffraction ability. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength, the stronger the ability of radio waves to penetrate buildings, and the weaker the diffraction ability. Therefore, in cities, because the buildings are denser and require stronger radio wave penetration, the UHF frequency band 400~480 MHz can be selected. The use of the intercom module in the wilderness or open areas on the sea requires radio waves with strong diffraction capabilities, so the VHF frequency band 134~174 MHz is selected.
In China, walkie talkie modules generally use UHF frequency bands of 400~480 MHz, and foreign customers use the two frequency bands in similar situations. You can choose the walkie talkie module of the appropriate frequency band according to your actual needs. If you find that the transmission distance does not meet the requirements during use, you can use a high gain antenna to cooperate. The length of the communication distance is related to many factors, such as: whether there are building obstacles in the environment, whether there is electromagnetic interference, transmission power, sensitivity, etc. These factors will affect the communication distance of the walkie-talkie module. If it is found that the communication distance is not as far as the distance advertised by the manufacturer, it is because the environment where the manufacturer tests the module is relatively ideal, there is less interference, and the transmission distance is in an open area. The communication distance may not be as far as the transmission distance of the manufacturer.
