What is a Quartz Crystal Device?
A crystal unit is an electronic component that uses the piezoelectric effect of a quartz crystal to generate accurate signals and stable frequencies for operating electronic devices. Since a quartz crystal unit by itself cannot output clock signals, it is always used in combination with an oscillation circuit (IC). We offer a lineup of ultra-compact, high-precision crystal units, mainly for telecommunications and smartphone applications.
A crystal oscillator is a quartz component that combines a crystal unit and an integrated oscillation circuit in a single package. Unlike quartz crystal units, crystal oscillators have a suitable oscillation circuit pre-installed, so there is no need for matching evaluation on the part of the designer, and a stable oscillation frequency can be easily obtained. Frequency-temperature characteristics (frequency stability) depend on the crystal used. Our SPXO (Simple Packaged crystal Oscillator) is the most common crystal oscillator without temperature compensation or temperature control functions. 1612 size, high frequency, and various output type products are available to meet customer applications.
GT-cut crystal oscillator has Excellent Temperature Characteristics up to 200℃. By applying GT-cut mode of vibration that have extremely good temperature characteristics at wide temperature range of -40℃ to +200℃, crystal oscillator has achieved "High frequency accuracy on extremely wide temperature range" that conventional SPXO or TCXO were difficult to achieve. GT-cut oscillator supports frequency range from 1 MHz to 150 MHz in 3225 size, while retaining the excellent temperature characteristics of GT-cut mode. In addition, Output supports CMOS. It can be applied to clock applications of various devices that require "frequency stability over a wide temperature range", which is difficult to achieve with conventional AT-cut crystal units.

By applying GT-cut mode of vibration that have extremely good temperature characteristics, GTXO-04 has achieved extremely good temperature as “±50 ppm” at -40 ℃ to +200℃. For special application that is difficult for AT.
KoT cut OPAW crystal oscillator
KoT cut OPAW crystal oscillator is a high-frequency crystal oscillator utilizing OPAW, which can generate over 500 MHz at fundamental waves with high-precision. This provides not only excellent phase noise/jitter performance at the high frequency range of 500 MHz to 1.0 GHz, but also frequency stability and aging characteristics as good as AT-cut crystals. KoT cut OPAW crystal oscillator will provide customers with powerful solutions in high frequency bands, such as millimeter wave bands, where further growth of market is expected.

Silicon Labs has introduced a new family of small form-factor, high-performance crystal oscillators (XOs) and voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) for applications that require low jitter and frequency-flexible clock synthesis.The Si54x/6x Ultra Series XO/VCXOs deliver jitter performance as low as 80 femtoseconds (fs) for integer and fractional frequencies across the entire operating range.
