What are the Characteristics and Application Scenarios of Bluetooth Beacons
Bluetooth Beacon is a small wireless device based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.
Its working principle is that Bluetooth beacon send Bluetooth signals containing their own identification and related data at a certain frequency. These signals typically contain the unique identifier of the beacon (such as UUID, Major value, and Minor value) as well as some custom data.
When the Bluetooth function of nearby Bluetooth devices (such as smartphones, tablets, etc.) is turned on, they can receive signals sent by these Bluetooth beacons. The receiving device can estimate the distance between it and the beacon by measuring the received signal strength (RSSI), and achieve functions such as positioning, navigation, and information push based on the combination of multiple beacon signals and related algorithms.
Bluetooth beacon have the following characteristics and application scenarios:

1. Low power consumption: Due to the use of Bluetooth low energy technology, Bluetooth beacon can operate for a long time using batteries, and some can continue to operate for several years.
2. Miniaturization: Small in size, easy to install and deploy in various places such as shopping malls, museums, airports, hospitals, etc.
3. Low cost: Compared to other positioning devices, the cost is relatively low.
Application scenarios:
1. Indoor positioning and navigation: In large indoor places such as shopping centers, airports, hospitals, etc., we provide users with accurate indoor positioning and navigation services to help them quickly find their destination.
2. Marketing and Promotion: Merchants can set up Bluetooth beacon in their stores to push product information, promotional activities, etc. to customers' phones when they enter the signal range.
3. Asset tracking and management: Attach Bluetooth beacon tags to important assets of the enterprise to achieve real-time positioning and tracking management of assets.
4. Smart museums and exhibitions: Provide visitors with detailed information and guided tours of exhibits in museums or exhibition venues.
For example, in a large shopping center, Bluetooth beacon are installed at the entrance of each store. When you enter the shopping mall with a Bluetooth enabled phone, the phone will receive signals from nearby beacons, and the corresponding application will recommend promotional activities for nearby stores based on the signals, and guide you when you need to find a specific store; In museums, the Bluetooth beacon next to the exhibits can automatically push the introduction, background story, and other information of the exhibits to your phone when you approach, enhancing your visiting experience.
