The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a system that provides positioning, navigation, and timing services through satellites. GPS consists of multiple orbiting satellites, ground control stations, and user equipment. Among the key components of the GPS, the temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) plays an important role. The temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) is a type of active crystal oscillator, which adds a temperature compensation circuit to the ordinary crystal oscillator. Its working principle is to reduce the impact of the change in the crystal oscillator output frequency caused by the change in the surrounding temperature through the additional temperature compensation circuit to meet the stability requirements in a wide temperature range. The frequency stability after compensation can reach 10^-7 to 10^-6. Because the temperature compensated crystal oscillator has the characteristics of ultra-high precision and high stability, it can provide a highly stable clock signal for the GPS system.

Provide high-precision clock:

GPS receivers require high-precision and stable clock signals to parse and process GPS signals. Temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) can provide this high-precision clock, ensuring that GPS receivers can accurately measure signal transmission time and thus calculate precise locations.

Eliminating errors:

GPS signals are subject to a variety of interference during transmission, such as electromagnetic interference and temperature changes. TCXOs can reduce frequency drift caused by temperature changes and improve signal accuracy through their temperature compensation mechanism. In addition, TCXOs can shield pseudo-pulse signals and significantly improve receiver accuracy.

Ensure signal synchronization:

There are multiple components inside a GPS receiver that need to work together. Low-jitter TCXOs can provide a stable clock signal to ensure signal synchronization between components. This synchronization is essential to maintaining high performance and stability of the entire navigation system.

Long-term stability:

GPS systems need to operate stably for a long time. The high stability and low noise characteristics of TCXOs enable them to provide a stable clock signal over a long period of time, ensuring the reliability of the GPS system.
