How to Correctly Install a Yagi Antenna on the LoRa Module?
SW433-BM-11DB is a 433MHz directional Yagi antenna of G-NiceRF. It is a special antenna designed for wireless outdoor systems. It has the characteristics of high gain, good standing wave ratio, ingenious structure, convenient installation, stable performance, etc., and also has good anti-vibration and aging ability. Yagi antennas are generally used with high-power LoRa modules, such as G-NiceRF's 5W LoRa module LoRa6500Pro and 30W LoRa module LoRaP30Pro. The super-powered them, coupled with the Yagi antenna gain effect, can greatly increase the communication distance of the module.

When collocation with the Yagi antenna, a correct installation method is very important. Many customers told G-NiceRF that the Yagi antenna did not achieve the expected gain effect because of the incorrect installation method. It can be seen how important a correct installation method is. Below, G-NiceRF will write the correct installation process.
Introduction to the Structure of Yagi antenna
This is the bottom of the Yagi antenna, which is used to tie it to a fixed pole. The tightness can be adjusted by screws. As shown below:
The long black wire is the extension wire of the antenna, which is used to connect with the wireless module.
How to Correctly Install a Yagi Antenna on the LoRa Module?
We choose to install the antenna as far away as possible from obstacles and open places. The antenna is at least one meter above the ground, and the higher the antenna height, the better the gain effect on the LoRa module.
The antenna of the transmitter's wireless module should be installed vertically, as shown in the figure below:
The antenna of the receiver's wireless module should be installed horizontally, as shown in the figure below:
This is the result obtained by our engineers after many experiments. The installation method of the antenna in this way has the best effect on the gain of the LoRa module. Of course, if the transmitter and receiver are installed horizontally or vertically, it cannot be said to be a wrong installation, but the gain effect will become worse. So this is also the way G-NiceRF recommends to install the Yagi antenna.
