Cost advantage
1. In terms of network construction, LTE Cat 1 can be seamlessly connected to the existing LTE network without upgrading the hardware and software of the base station, and the network coverage cost is low.

Compared with the commercial module cost of LTE Cat 4 in 2017, which is as high as 140 yuan, the current market price is still around 60-160 yuan.

Both LTE cat 4 and LTE cat 1 are standards for user terminal categories under the 4G communication LTE network.

2. The speed of LTE Cat. M2 (NB-IoT) is only several hundred Kbps, which has a strong advantage in power consumption, but it can not meet the needs of voice and mobility.
Application level
The LTE cat 1 is applicable to scenarios that do not require high broadband speed but have certain requirements for power consumption and data transmission stability, such as wearable devices, shared payment, campus water control, charging piles, smart security, smart agriculture, smart home appliances, industrial sensors, port logistics tracking, etc.
The LTE Cat 4 is suitable for scenarios that require higher broadband speed and stability but are relatively insensitive to cost and power consumption, such as live media, car networking, smart grid, video security, business display equipment, etc.
Users of the original LTE cat 4 can switch to LTE cat 1 for scenarios that require voice support, good mobility, or have certain requirements for uplink and downlink speed/data processing instantaneity, such as public network intercom, toy robots, shared bicycles, mobile pos machines, and code-scanning payment, but do not have a high demand for mobile broadband communication.
