利用京瓷高容量、小型化电容解决车载音响显示画面异常现象
芯片尺寸日趋小型化、功能多样化以及市场上对产品性能的要求越来越高,大幅增加了芯片区域电容数量和容量的需求,KYOCERA(京瓷)推出领先市场的小型化、高容量、高可靠性AR系列MLCC,正是对应了这一市场需求,笔者设计的一款车载音响遇到了显示画面异常(不清晰)问题,经分析后利用京瓷高容量小型化的电容完美的解决了问题,可见京瓷AR系列电容是助力客户提升汽车电子设计品质的利器,以下为笔者关于此案的分享。
此项目的车载音响采用的是TI的J6(Jacinto 6)处理器,在产品生产后对其进行硬件调试时,发现大量产品存在画面显示不清晰现象,经分析可能有以下两种原因造成:
(1) 软件处理吞吐量大、动作频繁的操作不及时;
(2) 电源纹波过大造成信号质量不好。
针对第一种可能,软件同时对软件尝试了改进,然而问题依旧,可见画面显示异常现象不是这个原因造成的。针对第二种可能,J6的VDDCORE(芯片背部加有去耦电容C1),VDDGPU(芯片背部加有去耦电容C2)和VDDMPU(芯片背部加有去耦电容C3)三组电源对此问题的影响最大,C1/C2/C3在J6背面的位置如图1所示:

C1、C2、C3使用的都是100nF 0402封装电容,而C1/C2/C3在J6(BGA封装)背面空间里也只能放得下0402尺寸的电容,测量结果显示它们所在的电源中电源纹波几乎都有60多mV,如以VDDCORE为例,电源纹波高达62mV,如图2所示:

如果要选择大容量电容减小纹波解决此问题的话,就必须选择0402尺寸下更高容量的小型电容,而相同尺寸下京瓷AR系列MLCC比市场上其它厂商的产品容量更大(见图3)。

笔者以京瓷0402尺寸047.uF、1uF、2.2uF的电容对之前C1、C2、C3 100nF进行替换,测试结果如下:

从以上测试情况来看,最优的方案是把C2、C3换为京瓷0402尺寸2.2uF的小型化电容AR05X7R225K06AH,但以上测试仅是常温下测试,在高低温下电容性能会有下降,因此笔者将此替换组合在-40°C~+85°C的温度下进行测试,发现画面显示异常现象依然存在,最后把剩余的C1也换成AR05X7R225K06AH后画面显示异常现象才消失,可见C1、C2、C3均需要换成AR05X7R225K06AH。
C1/C2/C3均换成2.2uF的京瓷AR05X7R225K06AH后,它们所在的电源VDDCORE、VDDGPU以及VDDMPU,纹波均减少到了20mV以下,以VDDCORE电源为例,其电源纹波降低到了16mV,见图4:

为何选择京瓷AR05X7R225K06AH电容?是因为它具有以下几点优势:
1. 高容量、小型化。市场上能生产2.2uF容量0402尺寸的厂商很少,而京瓷AR05X7R225K06AH却能以2.2uF的容量做成0402尺寸,堪称高容量小型化电容之典范;
2. 高可靠性。市场上仅有的其它几家能做2.2uF容量0402尺寸的小型化电容都是面向消费类市场,而京瓷AR05X7R225K06AH电容的温度特性很好,温度范围-55°C~+155°C,具高可靠性,完全符合车载市场要求;
3. 出色的直流偏压特性。京瓷AR05X7R225K06AH随直流电压变化的电容变化量比其它厂商要小得多(见图6)。
