电容成电源寿命杀手
在整个LED照明行业,基本上所有的工程师都会认为,LED整灯的寿命取决于驱动电源,而驱动电源的短板则是在其内置的电容上面。电容是电源产品中所有元器件中寿命最短的,这属于寿命木桶效应中的“短板”。
目前,驱动电源里的电容类型分为很多种,其中主要包括电解电容、贴片电容以及瓷片电容,但影响寿命的主要因素在于电解电容。除此之外,驱动电源中还存在多种电容,例如钽电容、固态电容等,但目前大多数驱动电源产品均无法离开电解电容。
这和电容的特殊结构紧密相关,因为电解电容属于传统液态电容器,它是用液体作为导电物质,所以在使用过程中,随着导电液的逐步挥发和消耗,电解电容的寿命将会慢慢走向衰竭。而导电液在长時间高温状态会逐步干枯,从而造成寿命短的问题。
液态电容由于摆脱不了受热膨胀的物理特性,因此会存在着漏液的危险现象。此外,液态电容在严酷的环境下,电容器性能会受到影响,在高温情况下,它的寿命会快速缩短,在极低温条件下,液态电容会存在短板,如活性会变弱,电气性能也会减弱。就目前整体市场情况看来,对电源寿命起决定性影响的仍是”电解电容”。
固态电容成为首选
要想保证驱动电源的长寿命,首先要解决电容的问题。既然液态电容存在着诸多的劣势,那么选择固态电容就成为了最好的选择。固态电容依靠固体导电聚合物作为电解质导电,其导电机理是依靠电子进行导电,导电性更优、综合性能优越,而且不会有电解液漏出来,安全且寿命长。”
采用固态电容后,电源寿命短板将不再取决于电容,因为固态电容在125℃情况下,通过相关实验测试,7000个小时都不会有任何异常,理论寿命是非常长的。据悉,固态电容器的寿命计算公式是,温度每降低20℃,寿命提高10倍,而传统的液态电容器,温度每降低10℃,寿命仅仅提高2倍。因此,将固态电容器应用于LED驱动电源中,理论寿命基本上可以说是无穷的。
