【成功案例】滤波应用中如何选择电感及磁珠
在电路设计中,磁珠(Beed)和电感(Inductor)在很多方面有相似之处,比如都可以用于滤波,且都通过串联方式接入电流回路,因此在要求不严格的情况下往往可以互相替换,但是二者工作原理和应用方法是有差异的,本文通过易于理解的定性理论分析,抛开繁杂的数学计算,就二者差异和使用方法结合实际应用进行简要介绍,希望能在概念上方便读者理解二种器件的不同。
二者可以通过等效分别为如下形式。通过简单的电路常识我们可以知道,对于电感的等效模型,容性负载和感性负载如果进行并联,那么在特定的频率信号输入的情况下会出现谐振,而对于磁珠而言,是一个等效电阻和一个电阻、电感和电容的并联网络的串联,同样也会谐振,但是与电感不同的是,并联网络的阻抗与等效电阻相比较小。

而在实际器件对于频率特性的表现上也是如此,下图2所展示的是LAIRD公司IC0603系列铁氧体电感的频率特性。可以从图2中看到,虽然是软磁铁氧体材料制作而成,但是却表现为电感特性,随着输入信号频率值的增加在有效频段内呈现感性,而品质因数Q为感抗与等效损耗电阻之间的比值,反应的则是等效模型的数学特性,Q值越大,在一定的频率范围内容易发生震荡,在搭配电容使用要更加慎重。

而对于磁珠而言,其特性如图 3所示,磁珠LI0603B201R-10和电感IC0603B820R-10的峰值通流能力为200mA,且封装相同,对比可以发现,磁珠的峰值阻抗频率点高于相当的电感自谐振频率点,这一点也可以通过磁珠的等效模型得到解释,模型内并联网络的阻抗较小,且由于是等效电阻串接等效网络的拓扑形式,因此峰值阻抗点频率较高。

造成磁珠和电感频率特性的差异的原因从物理能量的角度上看也有着巨大的差别。电感滤波的机理是将电能储存,储存的能量可以重新转换。这种能量主要通过两种方式转化,一种途径可重新转换为电能,反馈到电路上就形成了噪声,另一种途径则是对空间进行辐射,形成电磁骚扰现象。与电感不同的是,磁珠将电能直接转换为热能,不对电路造成二次干扰。因此,这造成两者在滤波应用中的差异。
如前文所述,两者在应用频段上也有差异。在滤波应用中,电感低频的滤波效果更好,一般而言,超出一定频率后滤波性能较差,从图 2可以看出感值越大,能保持电感特性的范围越窄,但都能保持在50MHz以内的有效范围。
从图3可看出,磁珠的峰值负载频率点更高,高频段范围内阻抗更大,因此磁珠对较高频噪声的处理效果更好,从等效拓扑和实际器件特性上都可发现磁珠在高频段处表现为电阻特性,能够充分有效地吸收高频噪声并转化为热能。即使负载电流会造成峰值阻抗频率点的移动,但总体上看变化幅度不大,在对高频噪声的处理上表现出器件稳定性。结合其能够有效应对高频信号的特点,磁珠体现了很好的抗辐射性能,因此在对电磁骚扰(EMI)有要求的设备上可使用磁珠完成滤波功能,同时减少对外部空间辐射。
在具体设计中,电感能够储存电能,因此属于储能元件,且常常搭配电容构成滤波电路,如果组合不当会产生震荡;而磁珠在高频段消耗高频噪声,是耗能元件,与电容协同工作时不会产生震荡。因此,设计中需要关心电感的自谐振频率和有效频段。

如图 4所示,在一处24V转15V的LDO电路调试中,发现在24V输入电源处存在交流频率16KHz,峰峰值100mV的交流电源噪声(图4中的蓝色线),对后续应用电路造成影响(图 4中的绿色线),需要进行滤波处理。因此,如图 5所示,在设计处理中,由于应用的LDO电路输出电流大小为800mA,在滤波设计上选取Laird公司额定电流为1.1A的电感CPI0805JR47R-10作为滤波电感,同时搭配一个10uF和一个0.1uF电感组合成为LC滤波电路,成功去除外部电源带来的噪声。

然后替换电感,选取相当通流能力的磁珠MI0805K110R-10,电路也能表现出滤波能力,但入口仍有峰峰值约20mV的电源干扰,这是因为磁珠和滤波电容的组合也可以对噪声信号进行有效处理,但是磁珠和电容的滤波效果不足以满足后续需要。进一步检查,去除10uF的电容,干扰恢复为约90mV左右,可以发现在这个过程中10uF的电容对滤波有相当贡献,但是单靠电容是不够的,因此在此处需要引入电感。
从上面对比实验可以发现,电感和磁珠在低频段都表现为感性特征,但是磁珠在该频段的滤波效果要弱于电感,为了消除输入噪声的影响,选取电感在此电路应对中低频噪声更为合适。而对于噪声信号滤波要求不高的场合,磁珠也是可以通用的,这需要设计者根据需求进行灵活选择。但是值得注意的是电感和电容的组合在特定频率条件下更容易发生震荡,因此需要查看Laird的选型手册,关注电感的自谐振频率和通流能力,避免在工况下出现谐振。
