对于出厂检验合格的电解电容,产品合规使用过程中的故障率是很低的,这一安全使用过程也可称为电解电容的寿命。影响电解电容使用寿命的主要因素是环境温度,工作电压和纹波电流,过高的环境温度会引起自身发热,电解液蒸发,氧化膜损坏等,使容量减少、漏电流増大,使电容达不到额定规格。高的工作电压和纹波电流同样会使电容发热,产生同样的后果,使电容寿命下降。本文将介绍不同环境温度下黑金刚铝电解电容的寿命估算方法。

如图1所示,

A:初期故障期间:制造工程不良、制品出荷以前故障。随着工作时间的增加,故障率迅速降低。

B:偶发故障期间:寿命期,故障率低且稳定,故障率几乎与时间关系不大,近似为常数。

C:损耗故障期间:老化失效期,随时间的增加而迅速出现大批故障,故障率高。

如图2所示,环境温度影响铝电解电容的结果,也是影响寿命最主要的因素。

如图3所示,纹波发热升温是纹波电流的平方关系,从图中可观察到,当纹波比额定容许值升高50%时,由纹波发热增加5℃左右。

如图4所示,以额定温度85℃, 5000h的电容为例的环境温度(包括纹波发热)与使用寿命的关系图,在纹波电流中等,由于纹波电流使电容发热15℃的情况下,额定85℃, 5000h,当在环境温度40℃的情况下,使用寿命可达接近60000小时;环境温度在55℃的情况下,使用寿命可达20000小时,都比额定寿命要长很多。如果应用在纹波比较小的情况下,实际使用寿命更长。

从图4可观察到,环境温度每下降10℃,寿命提升1倍。


图3和图4对于铝电解电容普遍适用,对于估算使用寿命是可行的。

【经验】根据电容纹波电流,为整流滤波电路、BUCK电路提供铝电解电容的选择方案

选择电容时为了求稳,不是使用测试点的Irms值来对比上表中的额定纹波电流规格,而是最好令测试点的Ipp值在额定纹波电流值以下,这样子可以保证任何时刻都没有电流超过电容的额定纹波电流值。本文主要推荐Nippon Chemi-Con的两款常用电容的额定纹波电流值都比较大,应用于整流滤波电路或者BUCK电路还有很多裕量。
