Silicone Dioxide Cable Designed to Withstand The Rigors of An Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Environment
Scientists use particle accelerators to unlock the secrets of the universe. Traveling at nearly the speed of light, sub-atomic particles speed in a beam that must stay precisely in line with the target. Silicon dioxide (SiO2) cable assemblies play an important role in guiding the beams in their tunnels.

Our SiO2 assemblies are designed to withstand the rigors of an Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) environment. Hermetically sealed and cryogenic compatible at -271.3ºC, colder than the (-270.5ºC) of outer space, our SiO2 assemblies deliver the phase matching, phase stability, and radiation resistance that is enabling the next generation of scientific discovery.

Non-magnetic coaxial cables and connectors are primarily used in applications that must transmit RF signals within a magnetic field, such MRI diagnostic imaging systems, and quantum computers. For example, quantum computers use non-magnetic components in key areas of the signal path to eliminate potential interference with applied magnetic fields. MRI systems require non-magnetic RF interconnects to send and receive pulsed RF signals; the presence of any magnetic material in these components may interfere with the magnetic field and reduce the accuracy of images.
