ESP8266 WIFI Module WG219 and WG229 for Smart Home Applications Compliant with 802.11b/g/n Wireless Module Standards
Smart homes are becoming more and more widely used in everyday life. Today Skylab introduces to you two smart control methods to achieve home and remote with the help of a mobile phone APP. Why recommend ESP8266 WIFI module?
(1) It has an MCU inside, so you can use it as an MCU. Common functions include: IO control, timer, interrupt, PWM, FreeRTOS, UART, IIC, SPI, etc. Therefore, the ESP8266 can perform most of the operations that a microcontroller can perform. However, it is important to note that the ESP8266 has fewer general purpose IOs. If there are more peripheral devices, you need to consider expanding IO.
(2) It can be networked, which is a very important point. Because it is made for the IoT environment, this is its main purpose. Because it is affordable and can be connected directly to WiFi at home or anywhere, it can be a great IoT device.
It detects information from sensors in the working environment, such as temperature and humidity, light intensity, etc. Then it uploads to the server via WiFi. And we can observe the information from home by simply logging into the server.
As long as we can connect to WiFi, we can control the ESP8266 remotely through the network. to achieve device control: door lock, light, rice cooker, air conditioner, curtain, socket, etc.
(3) ESP8266 supports two forms of antenna interface: on-board PCB antenna, IPEX interface, on-board PCB antenna and IPEX interface. Antenna customers can use directly without adding any matching circuit.
How do the ESP8266 WiFi modules WG219 and WG229 perform?
The WG219/WG229 are low power, small form factor UART-WiFi transceiver modules based on the ESP8266 chip. Compliant with 802.11b/g/n wireless module standards, they are designed for mobile devices and IoT applications. It can connect a user's physical device to a WiFi wireless network for networking functions. In addition the WG219/WG229 can be controlled via the serial port using AT commands to meet the networking function requirements.
The WG219/WG229 WiFi modules support the development of applications with SW on-chip ultra-low power devices. This makes the WG219/WG229 an excellent choice for automation and sensor solutions.
The WG219/WG229 has a built-in PCB on-board antenna and an external antenna for IPEX holders. Serial, PWM and GPIO interfaces are available. The SKYLAB ESP8266 WiFi modules WG219/WG229 are currently in volume production. SKYLAB provides full technical support and can customize software functions.
