Diotec launches new 5A, 2000V rectifier and 1.5A, 600V snubber diode, adjustable for e-motor
The car in the movie "Back to the Future" now returns back from the future with an e-motor, battery and onboard charger.
Needless to say that such cars (but also others) require components that are protected against excessive voltage strikes. Soon available will be DIOTEC's S5Y-AQ, a 5A, 2000V rectifier in the SMC package with AEC-Q101 qualification. Robust enough for any kind of auxiliary circuits in the battery management and charging system. A dedicated bootstrap and snubber diode is the avalanche-rated BYG20J, with 1.5A, 600V, and 75ns in SMA. Planned in the very near future with AEC-Q101 qualification.

Diotec‘s BYG20 is an Ultrafast Avalanche SMD rectifier diode in SMA Package having repetitive reverse voltage of 200V until 600V and average forward current rating of 1.5A. Having non-repetitive peak reverse avalanche capability of up to 20mJ and a very low reverse recovery time of less than 75ns, these devices are well suited for high-side floating gate driver circuits, as a bootstrap diode.
