Knowledge Sharing about SFP+ AOC
Today we will share with you the knowledge about 10G SFP+ AOC. We know that passive optical cables are heavy and bulky which do not meet the high-density requirements of data centers. Moreover, due to the nature of electrical signals, electromagnetic interference (EMI) limits the performance and reliability of copper. However, the active optical cable breaks through the limitations of passive optical cables and plays an important role in high-speed data transmission.
1. Introduction of 10GSFP+ AOC
Active optical cable looks similar to copper cable, but they are different in transmission mode and using environment. Active optical cables are mainly used in short-distance multi-channel data communication applications.
The active optical cable is composed of multi-mode fiber, an optical transceiver, a controlling chip, and a parallel optical module. The optical transceivers at both ends of the active optical cable provide photoelectric conversion and optical transmission functions to increase the transmission speed and transmission distance of the optical cable without reducing the compatibility with the standard electrical interface.
2. The advantages of active optical cable
(1) High density, small size, and lightweight, which meets the requirements of high density in data centers.
(2) Low power consumption, good heat dissipation, pollution-free ports, and high stability.

(1) 100G QSFP28 to 4*25G SFP28 AOC
(2) 100G QSFP28 AOC
(3) 40G QSFP+ to 4*10G SFP+ AOC
(4) 40G QSFP+ AOC
(5) 25G SFP28 AOC
(6) 10G SFP+ AOC
T&S can provide AOC and DAC cables required for the construction of large-scale data centers in 10G/40G/100G applications. The transmission media of AOC and DAC cables are different. For AOC, the signal transmits through light; for DAC, the signal transmits through electricity.
