克服微带滤波器的损耗问题

与其他传输线或波导滤波方案相比,微带滤波器最大的问题在于损耗。可喜的是,随着高K值系列材料(如楼氏电容的PG、CF和CG陶瓷材料等)的拓展,如今射频工程师已能够开发出低损耗的微带传输线滤波器


如图2所示,使用普通RO4350 LoPro电介质的微带滤波器与使用PG陶瓷介质的微带滤波器的损耗作了对比——两款配置均应用了相同的材料厚度、金属导电性和50Ω的微带传输线。

除了降低损耗外,滤波器制造商如果同时也作基板的工程设计,这就能得到另一个关键益处——可大幅缩短沿微带传输线传播的电磁波波长。就微带线而言,波长的计算公式如下:


Λ = 微带中的波长

λ = 自由空间的波长

εeff = 有效介电常数,取决于基板材料的介电常数和微带线的物理尺寸这两个因素


以楼氏电容(KPD)制造的标准品表贴式带通滤波器B099NC4S为例,它是一个常见的X波段滤波器。该滤波器的尺寸为10.2mm x 3.8mm,或者可以12GHz的自由空间波长(0.4λ x 0.15λ)表示。楼氏电容可基于自主研发基板材料的技术优势来缩短滤波器内的波长(参考上述公式),这样,相比滤波器外部(如自由空间)的任何辐射,滤波器自身都会显得相当小巧、紧凑。


这意味着楼氏电容能够开发出小型的微带表贴技术,而这正是毫米波(mmWave)应用的理想之选。由于楼氏电容能使mmWave天线的物理尺寸尽可能缩小,因此可直接使用微带方案在芯片或PCB上建立复杂的天线阵列。进而,含天线、耦合器、滤波器和功分器在内的整个设备都可以通过在基板上创建金属化图案来实现。


楼氏电容(KPD)的微带滤波器性能介绍

楼氏电容(KPD)的薄膜微带技术可提供各类带通滤波器、低通滤波器高通滤波器,频率范围从1GHz到42GHz(及以上),如图3所示:

楼氏电容(KPD)的微带滤波器具备以下主要优势:

  • -55℃至125℃下的温度稳定性;

  • 相比使用传统的印刷线路板,使用楼氏电容(KPD)的CG材料,滤波器的尺寸可缩小为原来的1/20,使用CF材料可缩小为1/10,使用PG材料可缩小为1/3;

  • 高重复性,因为薄膜制造提供了精确的制造性能,无需调整。
